Assistant General Manager – Sales & Membership
KidStrong Vaughan
Compensation: $23-$25/hour + performance-based bonus
Position Type: Full-Time
About the Role:
We are looking for a driven, personable, and highly motivated Assistant General Manager – Sales & Membership to join our leadership team.
This is a sales-focused leadership position, with approximately 75% of the role dedicated to membership sales and growth. The AGM will be responsible for managing incoming leads, building relationships with prospective families, booking trials, following up consistently, and converting families into KidStrong members.
While sales is the primary focus of this position, the AGM is also a member of the centre's management team. When the General Manager is not in the centre, the AGM will act as the Manager on Duty and be responsible for supporting coaches, members, staffing needs, and day-to-day centre operations.
The ideal candidate is someone who loves sales and working toward measurable goals, but also has the confidence and leadership skills to step in and run the centre when needed.
Primary Responsibilities – Sales & Membership Growth
Approximately 75% of this role will focus on driving membership growth.
- Drive membership sales through high-volume outbound phone calls, texts, and emails to incoming and existing leads
- Respond quickly and professionally to new inquiries
- Build relationships with prospective KidStrong families and confidently communicate the value of the KidStrong program
- Book and manage trial classes and prospective member visits
- Conduct consistent follow-up with leads throughout the sales process
- Convert trials and leads into new memberships
- Re-engage older leads and families who previously expressed interest
- Maintain an organized and accurate sales pipeline
- Meet or exceed individual and centre membership sales goals
- Track sales activity, conversion rates, and other key performance indicators
- Identify opportunities to improve lead conversion and the overall prospective-member experience
- Work closely with the General Manager to support overall membership growth and centre goals
Leadership & Centre Support
While sales and membership growth are the primary focus of this position, the AGM is also a key member of the centre leadership team and is expected to maintain a strong presence within the centre.
Responsibilities include:
- Coach KidStrong classes on a regular basis to maintain a strong connection with the program, coaching team, members, and overall centre experience
- Serve as Manager on Duty when the General Manager is not in the centre
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to coaches during assigned shifts
- Help ensure coaches are delivering a consistent, high-quality KidStrong experience
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback to team members when appropriate
- Support the General Manager with onboarding and training new coaches and team members
- Manage staff call-offs and assist with finding coverage when required
- Address member questions, concerns, and escalations professionally
- Ensure classes and daily centre operations run smoothly
- Maintain KidStrong standards related to safety, cleanliness, professionalism, and member experience
- Assist with opening and closing responsibilities as required
- Escalate significant staffing, operational, or member concerns to the General Manager
Community Engagement & Membership Growth
The AGM will also help grow KidStrong's presence within the local community. Community involvement should ultimately support brand awareness, lead generation, and membership growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Attend and support community events, activations, open houses, and local partnerships
- Represent KidStrong professionally and enthusiastically within the community
- Engage prospective families at events and collect new leads
- Follow up with leads generated through community events and partnerships
- Help identify local organizations, schools, businesses, and community groups that could create opportunities for partnerships or lead generation
- Support the planning and execution of in-centre events designed to engage current members, generate referrals, and attract prospective families
- Build relationships with current members to encourage referrals and strengthen the KidStrong community
- Work with the General Manager to identify new opportunities to increase local awareness and centre membership
- Track the effectiveness of community initiatives and ensure events are contributing to overall membership-growth goals
How This Role Works With the General Manager
The General Manager owns the overall operation and performance of the centre, including team leadership, staffing, coaching development, member experience, retention, community involvement, scheduling, centre operations, and overall business performance.
The Assistant General Manager – Sales & Membership owns the day-to-day sales process and membership pipeline, while providing management coverage and operational support when the General Manager is unavailable.
Both positions work closely together, but each has a clear primary area of ownership.
