The following position description is established by Flair Flexible Packaging (the “Company”) to outline the basic requirements, duties, and responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist whose work is to support the Human Resources functions of the facility and the Company. The Company has the right to amend or modify this job description at any time in its sole discretion.

Job Summary
The position of the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the Human Resource functions of the facility and the Company. These activities will include day-to-day support of employees in the areas of recruitment coordination, employment onboarding, benefit orientations, payroll processing, employee inquiries and transaction processing.

Essential Duties
The following duties are an overview of the primary duties and responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist and should not be considered an all-inclusive list:

Human Resources
1. Recruitment and staffing
a. Successfully posts positions and coordinates the interview process for hiring managers.
b. Assists management in the development of future leaders, succession planning, and effective workforce planning.
c. Ensures exit interviews of hourly and salaried personnel are conducted properly.
2. Onboarding and training
a. Effectively executes hiring process with all new hires in an effective and organized manner while collecting all required company and legal paperwork and entering it in an approved company systems and personnel files.
b. Attends training sessions and comprehends training material and subject matter.
c. Ensures employees are trained to understand the company’s policies and procedures as identified in the company handbook.
d. Updates and notifies employees of company handbook changes.
3. Employee relations
a. Executes proactive labor relations and positive employee relations strategies that maintain workforce stability and ensures a highly engaged work environment.
b. Supports and coaches employees in the administration of work rules, policies and practices.
c. Supports Operation Managers team to implement organization changes that improve operational performance.
d. Ensures the communication, implementation and promotion of Flair’s mission and guiding principles as a means of supporting an environment of continuous improvement focused on delivering manufacturing results.
e. Provides advice and counsel to the Human Resources Director in areas such as personnel selection, labor and employment law, employee relations, union avoidance, etc. as necessary.
f. Demonstrates an approachable persona and is skilled in bringing forward employee relations issues and concerns in a manner that builds employee confidence.
g. Demonstrates credibility as an employee advocate while balancing the needs of an ever-changing business environment to ensure employees are treated fairly and free of retaliation.
h. Leads initiatives and activities that drive employee engagement.
4. Performance management
a. Ensures the consistent application of Performance Management principles and processes are applied at all organizational levels to foster an environment of accountability, development, results and rewards.
5. Payroll
a. Accurately enters and records payroll entries while completing bi-weekly payroll functions on a timely basis in compliance with state and federal laws.
6. Applicable regulatory compliance
a. Executes all Human Resources policies, practices and processes to ensure legal compliance with regulatory standards and legal obligations governing employee practices, labor laws, global business practices, audits and charges from regulatory agencies like Human Rights < Employment standards and state and local agencies.
7. UltiPro Administration and implementation
a. Effectively uses all the UltiPro tools to administer all HR programs
b. Trains the end users ( Employees and Managers ) on different features of UltiPro HRMS
8. Safety
a. Leads and guides the Safety Team to ensure safety awareness, training, orientation and compliance.
9. Investigations
a. Conducts thorough investigations of employee complaints; provides follow-up to the Managers and other department heads regarding complaint issues.
b. Maintains written records of all complaints and resolution.
10. Confidentiality- Ability to handle information in a confidential manner.
11. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Safety Responsibilities
All Flair employees are required to be an active safety participant at Flair by:
1. Attending required safety training sessions
2. Reporting accidents and near misses in a timely fashion
3. Reporting any safety concerns to a designated safety team leader
4. Taking reasonable care for their own health and safety
5. Watching out for the safety of co-workers
6. Following Flair’s work safety rules, policies and procedures.

Food Safety Responsibilities
1. Employees shall report problems with the food safety management system to the responsible person(s). Responsible personnel shall have defined responsibility and authority to initiate and record actions.
2. Employees shall understand the Food Safety Policy, GMP’s, HACCP Principle and Food Safety
Standard.

Required Training, Experience, Licenses and Certifications
In addition to performing satisfactorily all of the duties and responsibilities of the position, an individual in this position must possess and maintain the following knowledge, skill, qualifications and/or abilities:
1. Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or university preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years direct Human Resources experience required, including a minimum of 3 years in a Talent and Management Role.
3. Knowledge and understanding of human resources and employment practices (selection, interviewing, job evaluations, etc.).
4. Experience in human resources function in a manufacturing environment.
5. Ability to work with little supervision and make responsible decisions.
6. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
7. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language at a level adequate to perform job functions.
8. Experience working with MS Office Suite of products.
9. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions promptly and accurately.
10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals.
11. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Company employees, representatives of manufacturers, vendors or third-parties, and customer representatives.
12. Ability to work well under pressure and under stressful conditions.
13. Ability to coordinate, prioritize and timely and satisfactorily complete many different tasks.
14. Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime hours as necessary.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
  • The duties of this position generally involves sedentary office work.
  • Moderate physical activity is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to sit, talk, see and hear.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop/bend, lift, and frequent repetitive motion and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and normal vision.
  • Frequent use of technical office equipment including personal computer, document preparation equipment, copier, postage equipment, telephone and fax machine.
  • The position requires communication with Company employees, customers and other individuals.
  • Work hours will vary depending upon the needs of the Company at any given time, and will involve working long or non-traditional hours to fulfill Company needs, projects or special circumstances.
