GreekTown on the Danforth BIA represents one of Toronto’s most vibrant and culturally rich neighbourhoods. We support local businesses through events, marketing, and community-building initiatives, including signature festivals like Taste of the Danforth.
Position Overview
The Marketing Coordinator will report to the Manager and support the BIA’s strategic communications and marketing efforts. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented student interested in gaining hands-on experience in social media, event promotion, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and distribution of the GreekTown BIA’s monthly e-newsletter
- Support the creation of digital and print marketing materials for promotions and communications
- Source and share information about BIA member events and initiatives
- Conduct outreach to BIA members to promote participation in the online events calendar
- Develop and schedule engaging social media content across BIA platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
- Assist with the planning and execution of marketing campaigns and promotional activities
- Support broader communications and marketing initiatives as required
Qualifications
- Current post-secondary student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- Canadian Citizen
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable engaging with local businesses and community stakeholders
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools is an asset
- Interest in events, culture, and community development is a strong asset
