Up North Installations Ltd. is a professional cabinet and millwork installation company based in Vancouver, BC.
Main duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and installation layouts
- Measure, cut, fit, assemble, and install cabinets, countertops, millwork, trim, doors, baseboards, shelving, and other interior finish carpentry components
- Verify inventory and inspect materials prior to installation, reporting any missing or damaged items to the supervisor
- Review site conditions, including dimensions and plumbing or electrical rough-ins and communicate discrepancies to the supervisor before commencing work
- Install cabinetry and millwork accurately, ensuring all components are level, plumb, square, and in accordance with project specifications
- Perform precise cut-outs and modifications for electrical outlets, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and other building components while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and efficiently to complete installations
- Handle and protect finished materials and components to prevent damage during installation
- Perform adjustments, repairs, and finishing work as required to ensure proper fit and quality standards
- Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades to ensure timely completion of projects
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with workplace health and safety regulations
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and customer expectations
Employment Requirements
- Secondary school graduation is required.
- Eligibility for trade certification generally requires completion of a three- to four-year carpentry apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of trade experience and relevant carpentry training.
