Zone Manager – Landscape Construction
About the Role
A busy and growing outdoor construction company on the North Shore is searching for a seasoned leader to take charge of our construction division. This is a hands-on senior role for someone who is equally comfortable closing a sale, reading a job cost report, and holding a team accountable on site.
You'll have real authority over how the division runs — and real ownership over its results.
Your Core Responsibilities
Running the Division
- Act as the go-to leader for all construction activity day to day
- Keep projects moving on time, on budget, and to a high standard
- Hold your team accountable — from supervisors down to crew
Winning and Pricing Work
- Take jobs from first conversation through to signed contract
- Visit sites, scope projects, and put together accurate and competitive bids
- Spot opportunities to grow job value through additional scope or upgrades
- Stay on top of your pipeline and follow through until you get an answer
Keeping Projects on Track
- Make sure every job is properly set up before boots hit the ground
- Get out to sites regularly to check quality and alignment with what was sold
- Coordinate with operations to ensure smooth handoffs and execution
- Support invoicing accuracy by tracking milestones and completed work
Watching the Numbers
- Own the division's revenue and margin performance
- Make sure bids are priced to hit profitability targets
- Stay on top of outstanding receivables alongside the finance team
Growing Your People
- Hire well and bring new team members up to speed effectively
- Run regular team huddles to keep everyone aligned and motivated
- Develop your staff and support their advancement
What You Bring
- 5+ years in landscape construction or a closely related field
- Experience both pricing work and delivering it
- Proven ability to lead a team and drive performance
- Comfortable talking to clients and asking for the sale
- Solid grasp of job costing and margin management
- Familiar with or open to learning estimating and field management software
- Valid BC driver's licence
- Trade certification or relevant credentials are a bonus
Why This One's Worth a Look
- Full divisional ownership — not just a field role with a fancy title
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- Stable, well-run company with an established client base
- North Shore market with strong demand and a solid project pipeline
