Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced South Indian Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic South Indian dishes, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, and chutneys with authentic flavors.
- Oversee food preparation processes to ensure consistency and quality in every dish served.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance on food handling, safety procedures, and proper cooking techniques.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and uphold hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
- Lead and motivate team members to deliver excellent food service and maintain a positive work environment.
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Serve as a culinary expert for authentic South Indian cuisine, training staff on traditional recipes and cooking methods.
Requirements
- Proven experience in South Indian cuisine preparation and cooking.
- Supervising experience in a restaurant or food service setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and hygiene standards within the food industry.
- Previous restaurant management or team management experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse kitchen team effectively.
- Solid background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and hospitality operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
- Prior experience working in the food industry or hospitality sector is advantageous.
