Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold food safety standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients for meal service
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sweeping floors, emptying trash bins, and disinfecting work surfaces regularly
- Support the storage of food items by organizing supplies and ensuring proper labeling and rotation
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of clean dishes and smooth workflow during busy hours
- Follow all food handling safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Help with general kitchen cleanup at the end of shifts to prepare for the next day’s operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Basic understanding of food handling safety practices and hygiene standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending comfortably
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive attitude toward cleanliness and organization
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team setting
- Knowledge of cooking techniques or meal preparation is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to develop new skills is appreciated
