Position Overview:
The warehouse Supervisor (Outbound & Fulfillment) leads the high-velocity execution of customer orders, ensuring that $100M+ in annual demand is picked, packed, and shipped with zero defects. This role manages the "Velocity" of the warehouse, balancing labor across picking zones and shipping docks to meet strict carrier cut-off times and maintain 100% "On Time and In Full" (OTIF) delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise daily outbound warehouse operations, including picking, packing, and shipping.
- Allocate and reallocate labour across warehouse functions to meet daily productivity targets and carrier cut-off times.
- Monitor order flow and identify bottlenecks to ensure orders are processed and shipped accurately and on time.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of outbound documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests, ASN/EDI transmissions, and customer portal requirements.
- Monitor inventory availability at active pick locations and coordinate replenishment to minimize fulfillment delays.
- Oversee final-stage order audits to reduce picking, packing, and shipping errors.
- Ensure appropriate packing, cartonization, pallet wrapping, and product protection standards are followed.
- Monitor and recommend improvements to packing materials, carton sizes, and processes to improve efficiency and reduce shipping costs.
- Analyze operational performance and productivity metrics, including pick rates, orders per hour, and other relevant KPIs, and take action to address performance gaps.
- Lead daily safety meetings and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Conduct performance check-ins, attendance management, coaching, and ongoing development of warehouse employees.
- Identify training needs and support cross-training initiatives to improve operational flexibility and coverage.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, 5S, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support efficient order fulfillment and resolve operational issues.
Key Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of warehouse experience, including 1-3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Valid forklift certification, or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience supervising teams in a high-volume warehouse or fulfillment environment.
- Strong understanding of outbound logistics, including LTL, courier, and 3PL operations.
- Experience with Bills of Lading, shipping documentation, and freight processes.
- Experience with ASN/EDI processes and customer shipping portals.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety practices and OH&S requirements.
