About the job:
The Sous Chef of Louie's Steakhouse at The Adventure Hotel, jointly oversees the nightly operations of the kitchen, this includes the managing, training, and control over costs of goods and labour. The Sous Chef leads the team during operations focusing on serving consistent perfect food, every time, and working with a sense of purpose and urgency. Additionally, the Sous Chef will work with the Kitchen Management, Operations Manager, General Manager and Front of House Managers on Restaurant, Pub and Banquet Menu development and continual improvements of general policies and procedures.
The Sous Chef is responsible for ensuring that our most important people, our Guests and team members, have an exceptional experience from start to finish. This person will demonstrate outstanding leadership abilities, believe in championing a fun and safe work environment and contribute to a thriving workplace culture.
Experience and skills:
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
- Previous kitchen supervisory experience; minimum of three years
- Red Seal certification or 5 years equivalent experience an asset

The successful applicant will be jointly responsible for overseeing the back of house operations for Louie’s Steakhouse & Bar. You will also be participatory in the operations of The Uptown Sportsbar, the banquet facilities and Empire Coffee. Nelson is known in winter for its fabulously deep and dry powder whether it’s at Whitewater Ski resort or its epic surroundings for touring, in summer for its intense mountain biking and scenic motorcycle touring.
