We are looking for a friendly and energetic Shawarma Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our delicious shawarma offerings, preparing and serving high-quality shawarma to customers in a lively retail environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, customer service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back.
Job Overview:
A Shawarma Specialist is responsible for preparing and assembling traditional Middle Eastern dishes, slicing meat from a vertical rotisserie, and delivering excellent customer service. They manage everything from ingredient preparation and order building to food safety and cash handling in a fast-paced retail / foodservice environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Cooking-
· Meat Preparation: Marinate, season, and stack meat (chicken, beef, or lamb) on the vertical rotisserie.
· Cooking & Slicing: Roast the meat to perfection and use specialized knives to shave it cleanly off the spit.
· Assembly: Prepare shawarma wraps, pitas, and plates according to established recipes and customer preferences.
· Toppings & Sides: Chop and organize vegetables, and portion sides like fries, hummus, or tabbouleh.
Customer Service-
· Taking Orders: Engage with guests, accurately take orders, and answer any questions about the menu.
· Customization: Tailor each dish to the customer’s specific requests (e.g., specifying sauce types, spice levels, or dietary restrictions).
· Upselling: Recommend additional sides, drinks, or premium toppings to enhance the customer's dining experience.
Sanitation & Kitchen Maintenance-
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health, sanitation, and food safety regulations at all times.
· Station Cleaning: Clean and sanitize preparation areas, knives, the vertical rotisserie, and cooking surfaces.
Inventory Duties-
· Stocking: Restock ingredients, sauces, and wrapping paper as needed during the shift.
Qualifications & Skills-
· Experience: Previous food service or kitchen experience is highly preferred, but fast-paced on-the-job training is common.
· Knife Skills: Ability to handle commercial kitchen knives and slicers safely.
· Physical Stamina: Capacity to stand for long periods and work in warm environments near rotisserie burners.
· Time Management: Must be able to operate quickly and efficiently during high-volume peak hours.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
