ERM is seeking a Staff Environmental Scientist, Water Generalist to join our Canadian team. The successful candidate will have experience with data management, hydrometric monitoring, aquatic studies and monitoring programs in streams, rivers, and lakes involving water quality and quantity, sediment quality, and biotic communities. The scientist will carry out data analysis, database management and report writing for water quality and aquatic baseline studies.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Integrated Water Services team in Canada, will interact within a multidisciplinary community of toxicologists, geochemists, hydrologists, fisheries biologists, and wildlife biologists (among other disciplines), and will become a member of an extensive team of global environmental and social experts. This posting is for a full time position, and is designed for a motivated, career-minded person who enjoys working independently.
Qualifications and Desirable Skills:

Educated to BSc level in an Aquatic Biology or similar discipline with an MSc/PhD considered an asset;

Strong multivariate statistical skills using the open source program R;

Experience working in all phases of mining projects;

Field experience in hydrology, fisheries, wildlife, and air quality (meteorology) is considered an asset;

Prior experience in environmental consulting is considered an asset;

Expertise with Federal, Provincial and Territorial regulations and guidelines;

Excellent writing skills, communication skills, and time management skills;

Work collaboratively and positively within a team setting with the ability to work independently
