Contemporary Computers is a boutique managed IT services company supporting over 100 businesses across the Greater Toronto Area. We work across a wide range of industries and technologies, delivering high-quality IT solutions and support.
We’re looking for a technician based in the West GTA (Brampton, Mississauga, Milton, Guelph, Hamilton, or surrounding areas) who wants to grow their skills in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
This is a primarily remote role with onsite client visits; however, it begins with a mandatory 2-month in-person training period in Toronto. After training, work will transition to a mix of remote support and onsite visits across the West GTA.
Technicians are encouraged to think critically, take ownership of their work, and continuously build their skills with support from the team.
What You’ll Be Working On:
- Remote and onsite IT support: troubleshooting, deployments, and client assessments
- Hardware and software configuration and rollout
- Network troubleshooting and device deployment
- Monitoring systems and responding to alerts
- Supporting a variety of client environments across industries
We also work across broader technical areas including:
- IT Managed Services
- IT Auditing and IT Security Auditing
- Networking: IP services, VoIP, and infrastructure deployments
- Server deployment and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Cloud and hosted infrastructure
- Custom technical solutions and integrations
- Data recovery and hardware repair
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of client issues from start to resolution
- Manage tickets, documentation, and follow-ups effectively
- Deliver high-quality remote and onsite support
- Travel to client sites as needed across the GTA
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems and improve processes
- Continuously learn and develop technical skills
What We’re Looking For:
- Based in the West GTA (Brampton, Mississauga, Milton, Guelph, Hamilton, or nearby)
- Willing to commute to Toronto for first 2 months for training
- Willing to travel for onsite client work as required
- Must have a reliable vehicle
- Reliable, professional, and organized
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset
- Able to take initiative and work through challenges
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Receptive to feedback and committed to growth
Technical Requirements:
- L1 IT experience or higher
- Strong Windows troubleshooting skills
- Networking fundamentals (IPv4, VLANs, subnetting)
- Experience with ticketing systems and documentation
Bonus Skills:
- Microsoft 365 / Intune
- Hyper-V, VMware
- SonicWALL, Cisco Meraki, Unifi
- Backup systems (Veeam)

- French (asset)
- Must pass a background check
