Job Overview
We are seeking skilled Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our team, responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with on-site repairs, mulchers, excavators, rock trucks, scrapers and dozers. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools and power tools, and the ability to think on the fly. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will play a vital role in ensuring operational efficiency and safety across our fleet.
Having your own Service truck is also ideal- pay will vary accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools as needed
- Conduct welding and assembly tasks as needed for repairs or modifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery
- Troubleshoot Hydraulic systems and electrical components within the equipment
- Conduct heavy lifting operations safely to move parts or machinery during repairs
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections
- Communicating repair status and recommendations effectively
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment
- Field experience is highly preferred
- Proficiency in welding, electrical systems, schematics interpretation, and hydraulic repair techniques
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and perform heavy lifting tasks
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic testing devices
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of maintenance procedures and troubleshooting methods
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills

Pay: $55.00-$70.00 per hour
