Position: Fire Sprinkler Technician
Location: Woodbridge, ON
Pay: $22/hr
Shift Timings: 7am to 4pm(Mon to Fri)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems across commercial and industrial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing, mechanical systems, and construction practices to ensure safety compliance and system functionality. The Fire Sprinkler Technician will work closely with project managers and clients to deliver high-quality service and ensure all work adheres to safety standards and building codes.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems in accordance with local codes and safety standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute installation plans accurately
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction tools effectively
- Perform system inspections to identify issues or potential failures and recommend appropriate solutions
- Conduct testing of sprinkler systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with regulations
- Assist in the assembly of piping, fittings, and sprinkler components during installation projects
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely throughout job sites
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and system conditions for documentation purposes
- Follow all safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or construction fields preferred
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to system installation
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as required
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to fire suppression systems and building codes
- Experience with commercial driving is a plus but not mandatory
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments
