Department: Powder Packaging
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Schedule: Flexible as needed/min hours (20hr/week)
Status: Part-Time
The starting pay range for the role is $29.98 – $37.56.
Job Scope:
Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the scope of this position involves providing coverage to all aspects of the powder packaging operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for operating and troubleshooting the Avapac System
- Set up and operate filling and packaging equipment
- Complete and document GMPs, MSS and HACCP related items pertaining to equipment and environmental cleaning.
- Operate automated equipment including Robotic Stacker and Stretch Wrapper
- Record detailed production reports
- Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs & other training materials provided and accurate record keeping
- Attend prescribed courses and training as required
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma and/or relevant food processing experience
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including excellent sanitary habits and possess knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
- Forklift licence, scissor lift would be an asset
- Good communication skills, including written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to be flexible in terms of shift work, weekends and Holidays as well as perform other duties as required.
- Physically capable of performing the demands of the job and ability to multi-task
- Computer skills would be an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and solid troubleshooting ability
Working Environment:
Regular exposure to noise, odour, chemical hazards, hazardous machines, moving objects (forklifts) and frequent interruptions. Regular exposure to dust. Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
Physical Demands:
Standing and walking for considerable length of time. Moderate lifting of materials up to maximum 35 kg
