Thompson Valley Disposal is a growing waste management and transportation company based in Kamloops, BC. As our operations continue to expand, we are looking for a reliable and adaptable Class 1 Driver to join our team on a part-time basis, with strong potential to transition into a full-time role.
This position is ideal for someone with a flexible schedule who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and willing to support both local and long-haul operations when needed.
Position Responsibilities
- Fill in on local roll-off and transportation runs
- Assist with long-haul trips throughout BC/AB when required
- Operate different units and equipment as required, maintain all units
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Maintain clean and professional equipment
- Flexibility to work weekends or extended hours when operational demands require it
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management
- Support basic mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs when needed
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s License
- Flexible availability, including occasional weekends
- Ability to adapt and switch between different trucks and job types
- Mechanical background or strong mechanical aptitude is considered a major asset
- Strong work ethic and dependable attitude
- Experience with roll-off equipment, highway driving, B-trains, or heavy hauling is an asset
