We’re looking for a bright and motivated individual, someone who is ready to contribute to our growth. This role is a 12-month contract with the possibility of an extension.
As the ideal candidate, Project Technologist will execute projects in the Emissions, Reduction and Compliance (ERC) Group by performing field work when required, data collection, data reduction, emission calculation and preparing reports. ERC relies on Technical Staff to maintain high utilization and efficiency.
Technical Staff act as Pinchin brand ambassadors as they engage clients to gain information and communicate requirements, problems or results.
Reporting to a Team Leader, The Project Technologist is helps clients remain compliant with environmental regulations by quantifying air, water, odour, noise and dust emissions, preparing required annual reports and gaining the compliance approvals needed to operate equipment in Ontario and other jurisdictions.
A Day in the life of Project Technologist at Pinchin
The Project Technologist will support Project Managers, Project Engineers, Team Leads and the Operations Manager to provide exceptional technical solutions and service to ERC’s clients. The Project Technologist plays a large role in the department’s profitability and efficiency objectives:

Perform on-site field activities safely and efficiently.

Manage data and calculations accurately and develop quality reports.

Maintain technical abilities and designations.

Attending meetings and training courses.

Be active in the development of a personal career progression plan.

Engage clients professionally and be efficient at gaining information as required.

Meet deadlines and complete scope on every project.

Reports directly to a Team Lead for overall supervision.

Meet and maximize utilizations targets.

High responsiveness to clients and maintain their satisfaction.

Meet project budget as assigned for any tasks.

Effectively of work as a team member

Time sheets entered accurately and as per corporate policy.
What you bring to the Pinchin team
-
College Diploma (preferred), Science or Engineering Degree,
-
2 years work experience ideally in an industrial or consulting setting.

Preferred: knowledge of environmental regulations O.Reg 419, experience preparing National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) calculations and reports.

Required valid driver’s licence with sufficient insurance, and access to a vehicle.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Preferred: AERMOD, ASHRAE, Screen 3, Visio, AutoCad, CADNA,

Must be able to read, comprehend and proof all written reports and correspondence.

Must have good spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail required.

Problem Solving.

Must be able to sit for long periods of time and operate office equipment required for the successful completion of tasks.

Candidate may be subjected to noise, vibration, high and low temperatures.

Candidate may be expected to work in confined spaces, or in restrictive equipment and protective wear.

Physical requirements include climb ladders and the ability to lift boxes not exceeding 20 kg.

Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including (if required) respiratory protection devises, disposal clothing, work boots, hard hats, hearing protection, etc.

Must be willing to work outside of normal working hours (i.e. evenings and weekends) on a regular basis.

Overtime may be required to meet deadlines during busy periods.
