POSITION: Graphic Content Specialist - Digital & Packaging

ROLE
As a vital member of the Marketing Team, the Graphic Content Specialist is a creative, curious, exceptionally organized, and deadline-oriented professional. A champion of brand identity, the successful incumbent will collaborate with the Marketing Team to bring IHL’s marketing strategy to life.
This role has a strong emphasis in both packaging design, web design and optimization. The Graphic Content Specialist will craft targeted and impactful user experiences that tell stories for both, our physical and digital environments. As a true specialist, this individual will be required to utilize several graphic applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Lightroom and E-Comm platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Packaging:
- Manage full lifecycle of existing and new packaging projects – from conceptualization to, die
- Follow Canadian packaging rules and regulations to ensure compliance with standards
- Quality control on all assets and collateral, ensuring brand compliance, consistency, and accurate copywriting
- Maintain an up-to-date library with all current graphic collateral and packaging
- Coordinate packaging swap-outs/updates and upgrades
- Audit existing graphic content and incorporate industry best practices and standards through research
Digital:
- Develop digital assets for the E-Commerce platform, including product images, banners, and landing pages
- Optimize all visual assets (images, graphics, videos) for website performance, ensuring fast loading times and SEO-friendly formats
- Ensure all website visuals and layouts are mobile-responsive and optimized for user experience
- Maintain a consistent visual identity across the E-Commerce site and other digital channels
- Audit existing site design elements and improve on-page SEO, including internal linking and URL structure
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure design changes are seamlessly implemented and optimized for SEO
Requirements
- Proven experience in both packaging and digital design
- Extensive knowledge of CPG packaging, with a track record of successfully leading packaging projects from concept to completion
- Strong technical expertise in print processes, including press proofing
- Demonstrated experience in leading or contributing to digital and E-Commerce projects
- SEO expertise in asset creation and optimization
- Completion of a relevant post-secondary degree or certification is preferred, such as Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, Multimedia, or Industrial Design
- Experience in collaborating with clients to assess project needs, provide analysis, and interpret design requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, with additional skills in motion graphics and animation
- Experience with video editing, photography, and HTML/CSS, with UX/UI experience as an asset
