Yellowknife Education District No. 1 invites applications for the following positions:
High School French Teacher
Post Intesive French and French Immersion
Ecole Sir John Franklin High School
Full-Time (100% FTE) Indeterminate
Minimum requirements include Bachelor of Education degree and Eligibility for Northwest Territories’ teaching certificate.
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Knowledge of child-centred learning
- Knowledge of or experience using the neuro-linguistic approach to language learning
- Excellent skills in French (fluent)
- Ability to communicate in English
- Experience teaching in a high school environment
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong understanding of competency based education
- Enthusiastic and ability to adapt to new situations
Understanding of universal design for learning
Understanding of backwards design
Understanding of triangulation of evidence of learning
Understanding of competenty based education
Strong communication skills
