The Opportunity
The Receiving Clerk supports the efficient movement, organization, and accuracy of inventory within the retail store. This role is primarily responsible for processing inbound and outbound transfers (customer and stock), receiving and processing truck deliveries, supporting Ship From Store (SFS) order picking, and maintaining an organized and accurate warehouse through counts and inventory controls.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring inventory is available, accurate, and ready to support both in-store and online customer demand.
Responsibilities
- Pick, prepare, and process outbound transfers, including customer (CX) and stock transfers.
- Valid inbound transfers and directs
- Ensure items are accurately picked, packaged, labeled, and staged according to company standards.
- Meet established timelines for inbound and outbound shipments while maintaining accuracy.
- Lead cycle counts and full inventory counts on the sales floor and in the back-room.
- Report and escalate inventory discrepancies, verify shipments against documentation and report discrepancies
- Receive and unload truck deliveries safely and efficiently
- Sort, process, and move inventory to appropriate warehouse or sales floor locations.
- Follow receiving and merchandising timelines to support store operations.
- Support the Ship from Store department as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and back-of-house environment
- Assist in identifying and investigating inventory variances.
- Follow inventory control procedures to support accuracy
- Perform all duties in compliance with company policies and applicable health and safety legislation.
- Use safe work practices when lifting, moving, or storing merchandise.
- Report safety concerns, incidents, or hazards promptly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years previous retail inventory, receiving, warehouse, or stockroom experience preferred.
- Experience with transfers, receiving, or fulfillment is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Comfortable using basic inventory systems or handheld devices
Additional Information
- Starting Rate: $18.85
- This position reports to the Assistant Store Manager(s) and Store Manager.
- This position requires team members to work varying hours, seasonal overtime, and shifts during days, evenings, and weekends
- This position requires team members to stand for extended periods, climb a ladder and to move merchandise (weighing up to 50 pounds) throughout the store
- Steel toe, green patch work boots are required
