We’re currently looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our Whitecourt team.
What You’ll Do :
Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment, including highway trucks, trailers, loaders, graders, logging, and mining equipment. Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and complete overhauls.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools.
Repair or replace defective parts and components using hand and power toolsTest equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with manufacturer and regulatory standards.
Interpret work orders, service manuals, and technical schematicsComplete job‑specific reports and required paperwork.
Make repair recommendations and suggest improvements.
Work independently in shop and field environments, including remote locations and adverse weather.
Maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety,
What We’re Looking For: Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (preferred)Equivalent education and/or industry experience will be considered.
Experience working on heavy equipment (logging/forestry experience is a strong asset)Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Comfortable with physically demanding work (lifting up to 50 lbs, confined space work)Willing and able to work at our Whitecourt location.
Assets (Not Required):Interprovincial Red SealForestry and logging equipment experience.
Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
Compensation & Benefits$40.00–$55.00/hour, depending on experience.
