This position will be responsible for developing new furniture products for the office furniture marketplace. The candidate in this position will take a proactive role in studying, researching and developing ideas for new products. The role may also involve modifying existing products or processes to increase efficiency or improve performance.

Some key job responsibilities include:
- Develop and refine innovative product designs using knowledge of materials and processes for upholstered products, sheet metal, tubular steel, and wood products.
- Utilize software for design efficiency including Solidworks and Microsoft Excel.
- Create bill of material and costing breakdowns utilizing Solidworks.
- Utilize design for manufacturing methodologies and work with the manufacturing team to seek continuous improvements.
- Prototype new product design concepts utilizing 3D printers and advanced manufacturing machinery. Prototyping process may also include analyzing, identifying and resolving any functionality issues.
- Ensure product design is in compliance with ANSI-BIFMA industry standards.
- Liaison with suppliers on product development or process improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of Solidworks.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Enthusiastic team player.
- Experience with furniture design is strongly preferred.
