Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Inside Sales Representative to join our energetic sales team. The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) supports sales growth by developing customer accounts, building strong customer and channel partner relationships, identifying new opportunities, and driving sales. The ISR also provides sales and customer support to Outside Technical Sales Representatives within their designated territories, including handling customer inquiries, quotations, orders, and follow-up activities. The role requires a proactive, customer-focused approach and strong collaboration to achieve sales objectives.
Duties
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue and achieve territory sales objectives.
- Responsible for small to medium-sized customer accounts throughout Ontario.
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop and execute sales campaigns that support territory growth.
- Process orders, credits, contracts, quotations, and customer complaints for the ISR’s assigned territory and designated Outside Technical Sales Representatives’ territories.
- Achieve sales goals and objectives established by management.
- Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up, outbound cold calls, and email outreach.
- Work from a designated list of end users to identify opportunities and promote relevant product offerings.
- Document customer interactions, activities, and opportunities in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Maintain and expand a database of prospects within the assigned territory.
- Use a consultative selling approach to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and prospects through regular communication and follow-up.
- Provide support to Outside Technical Sales Representatives with daily customer and sales requests within their designated territories.
- Provide coverage for the Customer Service department as required during employee absences to ensure continuity of customer service and sales support.
- Up to 10% overnight travel may be required.
Qualifications and Skills
- 2 - 3+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, account management, or a related sales environment, preferably in a B2B, distribution, manufacturing, industrial, or technical environment.
- Proven ability to prospect for new business, identify and qualify sales opportunities, develop customer relationships, and close sales.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong “hunter” mentality and proven ability to achieve sales targets and objectives.
- Strong customer service, relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Highly responsive and service-oriented, with the ability to support Outside Technical Sales Representatives with their daily requests and customer needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, follow up, and manage competing demands.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, particularly when handling pricing, quotes, orders, product information, and customer requirements.
- Professional phone presence with experience making outbound calls and conducting customer meetings through video conferencing platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
- Personable, adaptable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; CRM experience is an asset.
- Comfortable using LinkedIn and other digital platforms to research customers, identify prospects, and support business development activities.
- Valid driver's license; bilingualism is an asset.
Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
