NKPR is looking for a Public Relations Account Executive to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for contributing creative ideas to strategic plans and managing the execution of client communications programs. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of public relations experience with a proven track record of supporting brands and driving results for a portfolio of clients.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of accounts immersing yourself in each client’s business and acting as the daily client contact
- Anticipate client needs, identify solutions, and provide service value
- Develop impactful PR strategies based on client objectives and target audience
- Project manage accounts to ensure a high quality of work, completed on time and within budget. Includes: strategy planning and assigning roles and responsibilities, preparing budgets, monitoring progress, and keeping the senior team informed.
- Build content calendars and write copy for social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, website, blog, newsletters, etc)
- Manage interns and account coordinators, providing training, mentorship, and constructive feedback to nurture growth and development
- Write communication materials (e.g. pitches, news releases, media advisories, social media content, etc.)
- Manage budgets, negotiate with vendors and liaise with the accounting team internally to ensure accuracy of billing
- Stay on top of PR, social and digital media market trends so that you can contribute to ongoing dialogues and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of public relations experience (agency preferred)
- Post-secondary degree in public relations, journalism, communications, or related field
- Proven experience executing successful PR and social media strategies
- Excellent client management and relationship building skills
- Experience managing and motivating a team towards a common goal
- Strong writing skills (must be able to write error-free and grammatically correct press releases, media pitches, social content, client communication, etc. )
- Creative thinker, who challenges the norm and pushes boundaries of PR to deliver results
- Highly, organized, with strong time management skills and a "make-it-happen" mindset
- Ability to ensure delivery of high-quality work on tight deadlines
- Capability to work collaboratively and foster an inclusive culture
- Flexible, adaptable, and responsive to quick turnarounds
