Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the customer relations, booking and paperwork for the specialty transport (tilt-deck) division of our company. Your role will involve quoting, booking and managing relationships with our existing accounts. You will also communicate with the dispatch and field staff to ensure that jobs are completed on-time and to the customers satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have experience in transport and understand the requirements for hauling various construction machinery and supplies. You must be detail focused, an excellent communicator and responsive to our customers. This role offers an opportunity to increase your scope of work with the continued rapid growth of our company. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Communicate via phone and email with customers regarding scheduling their requested deliveries.
- Booking work orders in our dispatch system
- Working with dispatch team to review capacity and job schedule each day and prepare plan for the following day.
- Entering billings into accounting system for processing
- Providing excellent customer service and encouraging current customers to provide continued business to our company.
- Communication with driving staff to trouble shoot any issues they may have.
- Pulling permits when road restrictions apply
- Outreach to prospective customers in a business development role when time permits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in transport industry providing excellent customer service to customers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of accounting systems and experience entering invoices.
- Ability to supervise staff effectively while maintaining high levels of customer service
- Knowledge in Xero accounting software considered an asset
- Knowledge of specialty transport considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of payroll processing considered a strong asset.
Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
