University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Senior Manager Finance, Major Capital Projects in our Corporate Finance department.

UHN has developed a multi-billion dollar Integrated Facilities Master Plan that encompasses several significant major capital and redevelopment projects that will allow UHN over the next 25 years to better meet the health needs of its patients. As a member of the Corporate Finance team, the Senior Manager Finance, Major Capital Projects will collaborate closely with the Capital and Facilities Management – Planning, Redevelopment & Operations (FM-PRO) teams as well as Clinical, Decision Support and other Finance teams. The responsibilities of this position include:
Prepare comprehensive capital project budgets as required by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Long-Term Care (the Ministries) submission guidelines
Co-ordinates preparation of internal operating budgets associated with capital projects
Prepares Post Construction Operating Plan (PCOP) submissions to the Ministries
Participates in funding negotiations with the Ministries regarding for capital funding, local share plan and PCOP to maximize UHN’s financial resources and cash flows.
Provide sound and timely information to the management team to facilitate optimal decision making
Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages for management to facilitate the decision making and financial reporting process
Prepare formal written and oral presentations to internal and external decision makers
Assist senior leadership on monthly/quarterly financial review process including: providing financial information, requested management reports; assist with follow-up of action plans
Qualifications:
University Degree and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
A minimum five years of progressively senior financial management experience in complex organization
Experience with management of large capital projects.
Experience with Ontario Ministry funded capital projects preferred.
Capacity to build partnerships, work collaboratively and effectively communicate to diverse groups both within and external to UHN
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Ability to take initiative and embrace challenges
Ability to work accurately under time constraints required
A strong service orientation with a passion to advance the mission of UHN
