JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will participate in the activities of the content development group. The content development group is part of Paragon’s Test Operations division. The content development group is responsible for item development and form production and ensures that all Paragon tests contain high-quality test content. The successful candidate will work with the Content Development Lead to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted flow of test content through the item development process. They will help edit test content, maintain item records, communicate with freelance item writers, and ensure that high-quality items are available for each test administration. The Content Development Assistant will also participate in discussions about item quality, prepare feedback for item writers, and participate in projects related to new product development.

Under the guidance of the Content Development Lead and Content Development Specialists, the Content Development Assistant will assist the team in maintaining test and item specifications, recruiting and training item writers, providing on-going item writer support, commissioning items, managing the item review process, and managing and assembling test forms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Content Development Assistant will:
Review, edit, and enter test content into Paragon’s item banks.
Maintain item records.
Communicate with item writers and reviewers.
Monitor item writer deliverables and deadlines.
Ensure that all items are copy edited and, where applicable, audio- or video-recorded.
REQUIREMENTS
Academic

Qualified candidates will have an undergraduate degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in linguistics, applied linguistics, language teaching, or a related field.
Courses in testing, statistics, and curriculum design are desirable.
Experience and Abilities

Qualified candidates will have:
Excellent clerical and organisational skills with careful attention to detail
Ability to analyze, initiate, maintain, and improve operational workflows and recording systems
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills, both written and oral
Experience working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
Knowledge of immigrant and international student issues. Familiarity with ESL, EFL, and/or EAP populations would be an asset
Technical

Qualified candidates will have:
Advanced computer skills (including Excel)
Familiar with virtual learning environments such as Moodle
