Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for a locum assignment in Northern Ontario. Travel reimbursement + accommodations included.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
- Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and management of chronic conditions.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of Primary Health Care experience.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in EMR software and other relevant medical technologies.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Requirements:
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN-EC (extended class).
- Minimum 1 year experience working in community-based health care setting
- Current BLS
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check
- Record of immunizations with TB skin test within past year
