Roles and Responsibilities
- Participate in identifying and implementing airworthiness standards, aerospace industry product development standards, process standards and customer requirements related to product development activities.
- Develop plans for ensuring that all applicable requirements will be incorporated into the development process through validation, verification and qualification activities.
- Lead milestone reviews to ensure that all requirements are understood and being met by the development activities.
- Liaise with the customer and/or certification authorities as required through each project to ensure that all requirements and expectations are being met.
- Create product specific requirements documents, product development planning documents and design performance documents as part of the product lifecycle documentation.
- Participate in the developing and designing of new water system products for use in aircraft.
- Participate in updating and refining existing products.
- Participate in the creation of test plans and test/substantiation reports.
- Assist in the creation of other product lifecycle documentation as required.
- Assist with troubleshooting problems with in-development and in-service products and completing root cause analysis of failures.
- Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager or Director of Engineering.
Minimum Requirements
- High level of proficiency in oral and written communication in the English language is required.
- Graduation from a post-secondary with an engineering degree or technologist diploma required, aerospace discipline preferred.
- In-depth understanding of the aircraft product certification process is required.
- In-depth understanding of the aerospace product development process, including the DO-160, DO-178, DO-254 and ARP 4754 standards, is preferred.
- Strong technical understanding of engineering documentation standards is required.
- Advanced understanding of aircraft systems preferred.
- Minimum 7-years related experience required; 10-years related experience preferred.
- The ability to work as part of a team within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
