Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing systems, construction, and maintenance, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial and residential settings, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes. The Journeyperson Plumber will work closely with project managers and other trades to deliver high-quality workmanship efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with blueprints and schematics
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate installation and repairs
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other necessary tools to complete tasks effectively
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment as required for project needs
- Conduct routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent future issues
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper assembly of plumbing components within building frameworks
- Troubleshoot plumbing issues using basic math and technical knowledge to identify root causes
- Adhere to safety protocols related to HVAC, welding, carpentry, and other construction activities
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Plumbing license or certification required
- Proven experience in plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance in commercial or residential settings
- Strong mechanical knowledge including HVAC systems, carpentry, welding, and schematics reading
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and construction materials
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to plumbing projects
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various positions for extended periods
- Knowledge of safety standards related to construction sites, heavy machinery operation, and hazardous materials
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
