RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support HR department in the development and administration of human resource policies, practices, and procedures; including recruitment, orientation and retention, performance management and development, performance evaluations and compensation, offboarding, and the administration of HR files, for both employees and contractors
- Actively recruit, pre-screen, interview and hire for open positions
- Manage corporate Indeed account, and assist marketing & communications in managing company LinkedIn account
- Administration of company benefit plans
- Promote and assist with ongoing education, training, mentorship and career development for employees and contractors; including administration of grants programs
- Provide coaching and support to managers and supervisors regarding all HR programs, policies and services, and general concerns
- Promote positive company culture, including assisting with teambuilding events, internal activities, shout outs, years of service awards, and other related items
- Promote an atmosphere of employee advocacy to ensure inclusivity and an environment where employees are empowered to raise issues and concerns
- Promote compliance with HR policies and procedures, and best practices, to all levels of the organization
- Monitor and maintain HR compliance obligations set by Employment Standards Act and other applicable laws within the province of Alberta in daily HR practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, or related field, from a recognized post-secondary institution
- A minimum of 5 years of HR experience, including a min of 3 years as an HR Generalist, with proven experience in all aspects of HR including full employee life cycle (talent acquisition, job descriptions, pre-screening, recruitment, onboarding, retention, training & offboarding), benefits, employment agreements, contracts and conflict resolution
- Proven experience in supporting HR deliverables, including employee handbooks, policies, onboarding, surveys and data management
- Previous experience in an engineering environment considered an asset
- Knowledge of Alberta Legislation (Employment Standards, Human Rights, Occupational Health & Safety, etc) considered an asset
- CHRP designation or working towards it, considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills & ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with all levels of the organization
- Excellent conflict resolution and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines and schedules
- Superior attention to detail; strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Must work well independently as well as in a team, in a fast-paced environment
