Trinity Hills Eyecare is a patient-focused clinic committed to providing exceptional eye care and fashionable eyewear solutions in a welcoming, professional environment. We are looking for a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Optician / Optical Dispenser to join our team.
Position Summary
The Optician / Optical Dispenser plays a key role in helping patients select and fit eyewear while supporting daily clinic operations. This position combines customer service, product knowledge, administrative support, pre-testing assistance, and general clinic maintenance to ensure an excellent patient experience. Some evenings and Saturdays required.
Daily Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with frame and lens selection based on prescription, lifestyle, and budget
- Perform eyewear fittings, adjustments, repairs, and troubleshooting
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and proper eyewear care
- Process optical orders and coordinate with lens laboratories and suppliers
- Conduct pre-testing procedures prior to patient examinations, including use of diagnostic equipment
- Support front desk operations including appointment booking, patient intake, and insurance processing as needed
- Maintain accurate patient and inventory records
- Receive, organize, and restock frames and optical supplies
- Keep dispensary and clinic areas clean, organized, and sanitized throughout the day
- Perform light cleaning duties
- Collaborate with optometrists and team members to provide efficient patient care
Qualifications
- Previous experience in optical dispensing or opticianry preferred
- Licensed Optician or optical training/certification considered an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable learning and operating pre-testing equipment
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, reliable, and team-oriented attitude
- Basic computer and administrative skills
