ABL Employment- Aces Division is actively recruiting for AZ Shunt Driver for our client in Alliston, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy automotive distribution facility with consistent hours and a fast-paced yard environment.
Position Summary
The AZ Shunt Driver is responsible for safely moving trailers within the yard and between designated dock doors. The ideal candidate will have strong backing skills, experience working in a busy yard, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely move trailers within the yard and position them at loading and unloading docks
- Perform trailer inspections before and after moving equipment
- Maintain communication with shipping, receiving, and warehouse teams
- Ensure trailers are staged correctly to support efficient loading and unloading
- Follow all company safety procedures and yard traffic guidelines
- Complete required documentation and log sheets
- Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or damage immediately
Requirements
- Valid AZ Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Previous shunt or yard driving experience preferred
- Knowledge of safe trailer handling and yard safety procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Valid AZ license with a clean driving record; CVOR preferred
- Knowledge of freight handling, automotive repair basics, and safety procedures in transportation
- Prior experience in commercial driving or logistics is a plus
- Ability to work independently and adhere to scheduled routes and deadlines
Shifts are rotating - 2 weeks days - 2 weeks afternoons
6:30 am to 3pm - 4:30 pm to 1am Friday's 3:30pm to 12am
Hourly pay rate 29.19 + afternoon shift preminum
