Salary and benefits: $66,325.50-$78,030.00 and a comprehensive benefits package (including HOOPP pension). Employment includes free comprehensive training program in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy accredited by the University of Toronto.

CPH is the Network Lead Organization for the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program (OSP). OSP provides access to publicly funded, evidence-based, short-term, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and related approaches to clients with depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions.

CarePoint Health is seeking a therapist to provide individual and group cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for individuals who are experiencing depression and/or anxiety (including obsessive-compulsive concerns and post-traumatic stress). This is an exciting opportunity to join the OSP program which consists of a network of organizations working together to deliver and sustain effective psychotherapy. The successful candidates will be provided with training in OSP treatment modalities (e.g., CBT for social anxiety, Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD) and with weekly clinical consultation. This is an ideal role for candidates with a strong desire to implement CBT within a publicly funded mental health program while adapting where appropriate for diverse populations in the region.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide individual and group protocol-based structured psychotherapy, including CBT and CPT, in adherence with the OSP Clinical Model and Training guidelines to clients with mood, anxiety, concurrent disorders and trauma experiences.
- Conduct clinical assessments (i.e., Diagnostic Assessment Research Tool, PHQ-9, GAD-7 and other diagnostic specific assessments) to identify symptoms experienced by client and to inform individualized treatment plans.
- Participate in the OSP Training Program and ongoing education as required.
- Participate in regular clinical consultation and related activities in adherence with fidelity monitoring requirements and program guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports in adherence with Regulatory College and program specific requirements, including collecting relevant data to evaluate client and service outcomes.
- Collaborate with team members across the OSP program’s network of organizations in the provision of care.
- Contribute to ongoing program development and program evaluation and implement new practices as required.
- Provide psychotherapy services virtually and in person based on client and program needs. This may involve providing clinical services in the day, evening and weekends and is located at 2695 North Sheridan Way and possibly other locations in Mississauga. Clinical service provision will also involve virtual care.
- Support in providing service navigation for clients whose needs are beyond the offerings of the OSP program.
- Manager has the right to assign additional responsibilities.
Educational and Credentialing Qualifications
- Registered member in good standing with one of the following five Colleges regulated to perform the Controlled Act of Psychotherapy in Ontario:
- The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers
- The College of Nurses of Ontario
- The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
- The College of Psychologists of Ontario
Knowledge and Experience Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of post-graduate, direct clinical (psychotherapy) experience in the provision of mental health and/or addictions treatment.
- Experience utilizing evidence-based CBT treatment models with clients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and anxiety related conditions.
- Experience in the triage and clinical assessment and delivery of evidence-based CBT and CPT is preferred.
- Documented evidence of formal CBT and CPT training with supervision/clinical consultation is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practiced skills in providing culturally safe and responsive mental health services to clients of diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds is preferred.
- Experience working in a community-based or outpatient setting.
This position requires knowledge of:
- The science and practice of structured psychotherapy including a full range of psychotherapeutic and assessment techniques to assess, plan, coordinate and implement specific clinical protocols.
- CBT, CPT and other evidence-based structured psychotherapies and experience working with people with depression and/or anxiety (including obsessive-compulsive concerns and post-traumatic stress).
- Distinguishing features of depression, anxiety, and anxiety related conditions, and the etiology and treatment of these disorders.
- Relevant sections of legislation, i.e. Mental Health Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, Regulated Health Professions Act, Health Care Consent Act, and professional standards to ensure compliance and consistency in provision of client care.
- Computer software to generate correspondence and input data for a variety program specific tools e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, workload measurement, and electronic health records.
Other Skills/Competencies:
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills to develop and deliver clinically relevant, evidence-based services
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills
- Teamwork skills to maintain strong working relationships, problem solve and resolve conflict with inter-professional staff across the OSP network of organizations.
- The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language is considered an asset (e.g. Mandarin, Punjabi, Arabic, Urdu, Polish, Spanish, French)
- Time management, organizational and prioritization skills in order to effectively address multiple tasks/duties and timelines in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Attention to detail in collecting and reporting client and program information.
- Demonstrated commitment to practice based on inclusion and equity for all persons regardless of age, income, racial and ethnic origins, language, gender, sexual orientation, religion, intellectual ability, and health status.
- Experience in service delivery rooted in client-centred care and anti-racist practice is an asset.
- A growth mindset with a passion for learning and continuous improvement is required.

- A satisfactory and current Criminal Background and Vulnerable Sector Screening required.
