ROLE SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Small Engine Mechanic – Electrical and Fabrication will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving insulation blowing equipment and supporting production machinery. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, electrical troubleshooting skills, and metal fabrication experience, with the ability to diagnose equipment failures and implement long-term reliability improvements.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on insulation blowing machines and associated production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment failures.
- Troubleshoot AC/DC motors, motor starters, relays, sensors, switches, and electrical control panels.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, hydraulic diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Fabricate, weld, and modify equipment components to improve reliability and production efficiency.
- Repair and modify electrical control systems on insulation machines.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all safety procedures and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge and Competencies
- Small engine mechanical background required.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Welding and fabrication experience (MIG) required.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, fans, blowers, gearboxes, pumps, and rotating equipment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Valid driver's license.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must wear all required PPE as per production requirements including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes etc.
- Working hours : Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 PM
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and team assist lifting where required
- Must be available to support plant shutdowns, maintenance outages, and work flexible hours outside of regular schedules as required to meet business and operational needs.
- Frequent changes in temperature depending on the movements inside the plant
- Exposure to dusty environments
