This position is primarily responsible for the managing area of responsibility to ensure the success of all internal departments. It is also responsible for developing and implementing short and long-term sales strategies in order to ensure business continuity, conformance with Arconic and customer requirements, as well as business objectives.
Key Results Areas
NO. 1 CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION, ESTIMATING
Develops plans and strategies in accordance with Arconic programs and procedures and manages all contracts administration and estimating.
Oversees the complete process of quotation through negotiation, order placement and contract review and assists as required in accounts receivable.
Ensures area of responsibility is operated in accordance with existing corporate and plant policies.
Develops strategies for area of responsibility consistent with the long range plans (LRP) of the plant and corporation
Develops new partnerships and new potential regional markets.
Structures the area of responsibility around ABS concepts to ensure a path of continuous improvement.
Ensures compliance with Ethics and all applicable laws and regulations.
Interfaces regularly with customers.
Develops annual LRP and yearly budgets.
Ensures quotation reflects plant expectations with regard to quantity, delivery and net margin requirements.
Coordinates all quotation activity with Estimating, Engineering, QA, Finance, Internal / External Sales and Corporate where applicable.
Prioritize quotations, which will lead to near term casting production.
Identify new parts for medium and long term sustained production and prioritize accordingly.
Point of contact for all telephone enquiries relating to the technical feasibility of potential new castings.
Ensures customer orders are recorded and contract review is executed, resulting in order ready for manufacturing planning and execution without contractual restriction.
Ensures satisfactory customer communication, as well as alert upper management of urgent issues ahead of customer contact.
Negotiates commercial issues, which arise during the normal course of business i.e. schedules, design changes with cost impact.
Monitors customers’ orders to preserve our repeat business and evaluates the possibility of diversifying their order book with more of our products.
NO. 2 MANAGEMENT OF PERSONNEL
Ensures effective supervision, direction, training, coaching and personnel development of personnel in order to deliver stated results. Develops and maintains effective employees, training and progression programs.
Is a key player in selection of personnel.
Ensures periodic appraisal of each employee’s performance.
Determines manpower needs and staffs accordingly.
Ensures effective and ongoing training at all levels.
Maintains strong line of communication with employees.
Keeps all involved through periodic updates on objectives and performance.
Interfaces directly with Human Resources Manager to resolve employee issues such as complaints or leaves of absence

Reports safety hazards, unsafe acts, and any accidents as per company procedures.
Bachelor’s degree completed in business or commerce, or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering could be considered as well.
Minimum of five years experience in the aerospace industry. Minimum of ten years in sales, including strong supervisory/managerial background. Must possess strong background in reading blue prints for quotations, managing sales effectiveness and negotiating contracts.
