Join our Winter Operations Team! Our Heavy Equipment Operators have an incredibly important job as part of a team ensuring public safety and accessibility throughout the winter season in the City of Markham.
Backhoe Operators are responsible for the clearing of snow as per municipal contract specifications; in an efficient manner, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Snow removal service for the City of Markham.
- Previous experience with operating heavy equipment is an asset.
- Must be available for on-call 24/7 during the winter season (November 2026 to April 2027).
- Reliable, trustworthy and able to work varying hours, days, nights, holidays and weekends as needed.
- Operate in a safe manner, ensuring property is not damaged in the efforts of removing snow.
- Maintain care of company provided equipment, tools and vehicles.
COMPENSATION
This position includes a weekly on-call rate, as well as an hourly rate for the time spent working ($32/hour).
