Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or hand trucks when necessary.
- Verify delivery orders for accuracy and completeness before departure.
- Ensure proper handling of freight, including heavy equipment or fragile items, to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times or any issues encountered during transportation.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly.
- Assist with warehouse duties such as inventory management or equipment operation when required.
- Operate heavy equipment or machinery, including forklifts or other industrial tools, in compliance with safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, freight handling, or logistics preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Basic automotive repair knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting vehicle issues.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures related to freight transportation and heavy equipment operation.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation and delivery verification.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and interacting with customers.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) regularly and work in physically demanding environments.
