About UnitedCloud
UnitedCloud Inc. is a Canadian UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) and Hosted Voice provider headquartered in Chestermere, Alberta. We deliver channel-first communications solutions to businesses across Canada, with a growing focus on industry-specific voice product verticals. Behind every partner deployment is a finance team keeping billing, collections, and payroll running accurately — and we're hiring the person who will own that day-to-day.
The Opportunity
We need someone to own the accuracy and reliability of our billing, accounts, and payroll operations — and, just as importantly, to be the go-to person for our channel partners on UnitedCloud's billing software options for their end clients. A significant part of this role is partner-facing: walking resellers through how to set up, configure, and troubleshoot billing and invoicing for the clients they support, so they can bill accurately and confidently using UnitedCloud's platform. As our Billing Analyst, you will also be called upon to assist in the management of our full billing and collections cycle, keep our books accurate in QuickBooks Online, support payroll and light HR administration, and directly support the Controller on financial reporting and compliance. This is a high-trust role with direct impact on cash flow, partner experience, and the financial health of the business.
Bonus: this role starts flexible — 4–6 hours a day to fit your schedule — with room to grow into more hours as the scope expands and you desire.
What You'll Own
Partner Billing Support
- Be the primary point of contact for channel partners on UnitedCloud's billing software options for their end clients — helping partners set up, and configure the right billing/invoicing approach for their customer base.
- Walk partners through onboarding onto UnitedCloud's billing and invoicing platform, and provide ongoing troubleshooting when partners run into billing issues with their own clients.
- Build and maintain simple how-to guidance (quick reference sheets, walkthroughs) so partners can self-serve common billing questions.
- Flag recurring partner pain points so billing processes and partner-facing documentation keep improving.
Billing & Accounts Receivable
- Issue invoices to customers and partners, and manage recurring/usage-based billing cycles.
- Assists with running weekly accounts receivable and collections calls on overdue accounts.
- Assists with the recording of receipts, make bank deposits, and reconcile every bank account monthly.
Accounts Payable & General Accounting
- Pay supplier invoices on time, taking all reasonable early-payment discounts.
- Post financial transactions to accounting journals and maintain QuickBooks Online (QBO) records from source documents (customer invoices, cash receipts, supplier bills).
- Conduct periodic reconciliations across all accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and an orderly accounting filing system.
- Calculate variances from budget and flag significant issues to the Controller.
- Provide source information to the external accountant/auditors for financial statements and the annual audit.
- Comply with local, provincial, and federal reporting requirements (including GST filings).
Light HR Support
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain employee records related to pay, benefits enrollment, and time off.
- Support onboarding paperwork and benefits administration coordination with the Controller/leadership.
- Act as a point of contact for employee payroll and benefits questions.
General
- Monitor office supply levels, purchase approved supplies/equipment, and tag/track fixed assets.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
What You Bring
Required:
- 2–4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (mid-level skill set), or equivalent business experience.
- Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and full-cycle bookkeeping (AP, AR, reconciliations, payroll).
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO); comfort learning and becoming the internal expert on UnitedCloud's proprietary billing/invoicing software.
- Genuine comfort being partner-facing: this role requires walking channel partners through specialized telecom billing software setup and troubleshooting by phone, email, or screen share — not just back-office data entry.
- Ability to translate technical billing/invoicing steps into clear, simple guidance for non-technical partner contacts.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- High attention to detail and comfort with month-end deadlines.
Preferred:
- Prior exposure to payroll processing or basic HR administration.
- Experience in a telecom, SaaS, or subscription-billing environment.
- Familiarity with GST/HST remittance requirements for Canadian businesses.
