What a day look like as a Junior Accountant:
Full-cycle accounting
Record day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
Maintain and update general ledger accounts
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Help in the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately
Reconcile discrepancies in financial statements or general ledger accounts
Monitor and record company expenses, ensuring that they are properly documented and categorized
Assist in managing budgets and tracking expenditures
Assist in preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax regulations
Provide support during internal or external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries

Assist in identifying and resolving any audit issues
Help gather and organize necessary documentation for audits
Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing, scanning, and organizing financial documents
Assist with special projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Live in greater Edmonton area or be willing to relocate
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel is a must
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability and on-the-spot problem solving
- Ability to learn different types of software
- Ability to accurately process and review financial data
- Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
