We’re looking for an Account Manager with a solid sales background to play a key role with the Canada Life Group Office.
In this fast-paced and results-oriented environment, this position is ideal for a dynamic individual looking to use their proven business development, customer-service and interpersonal skills. You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining key business relationships with advisors and with group policyholders and managing a large block of in force business.
The key to your success in this role is an ability to respond to customer needs with innovative and customer focused benefit solutions. You’ll be responsible for achieving and/or surpassing objectives including sales, profitability, and retention as set out by management. Balancing these objectives, you can expect a high level of decision-making, and rely on your resourcefulness, and creativity within a team environment. This unique role offers you the opportunity to drive your compensation due to a significant bonus structure based on meeting the annual objectives.
Working in collaboration with advisors, prepare all aspects of Requests for Proposals (RFP) for small business, negotiate rates, prepare proposals and present to advisor and prospect
Responsible for all aspects of managing assigned accounts
Resolve non-routine, sensitive claims and financial issues as they arise
Manage advisor and client expectations
Exercise good judgment, creativity and resourcefulness as required to develop and maintain new and existing advisor relationships
Qualifications and Competencies:
Industry designations (i.e. CEBS or GBA designation) considered assets.
Post-secondary education an asset.
Knowledge of group life, health and disability benefits and underwriting considered asset
Strong sales and interpersonal skills including the ability to overcome objections diplomatically and influence the opinions of others
Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret potentially complex data for a variety of audiences
Ability to negotiate and influence effectively in sales situations
Valid driver’s license and vehicle
Establish valued relationships with key stakeholders including advisors, peers and key business partners
Confident communicator and facilitator with the ability to train, present and transfer complex knowledge in a manner that is clear and effective
Excellent written and oral communication skills
