Houle Sports Excellence is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Embroidery Production Associate to join our growing production team in a full-time, permanent position.

Whether you already have embroidery experience or you're looking to learn a specialized trade, we're willing to train the right person. We believe attitude, work ethic, and attention to detail are more important than previous experience.
About Houle Sports Excellence
Houle Sports Excellence is a locally owned sporting goods retailer specializing in team sports equipment, custom apparel, corporate clothing, promotional products, and event merchandise. We proudly serve sports associations, schools, businesses, and organizations throughout the Ottawa region.
In 2025, we launched our in-house commercial embroidery division as part of our continued investment in providing industry-leading customization services. Since then, we've continued to invest in state-of-the-art production equipment, including commercial embroidery machines and laser-cutting technology.
As our business continues to grow, we're expanding our production team once again.

What You'll Do
As an Embroidery Production Associate, you'll play an important role in producing custom apparel and promotional products for our customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating commercial embroidery machines (training provided)
- Hooping garments and preparing products for embroidery
- Monitoring embroidery runs to ensure exceptional quality
- Trimming threads and performing quality inspections
- Preparing logos and production files for embroidery
- Operating our laser cutter to produce twill lettering, numbers, and appliqué pieces
- Assisting with twill assembly and specialty decoration projects
- Folding, packaging, and organizing completed customer orders
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient production area
- Assisting other production departments during busy periods when required
As our production department continues to evolve, there will be opportunities to learn additional decoration methods and equipment.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys precision work and takes pride in producing consistently high-quality products.
The ideal candidate is:
- Detail-oriented with exceptional attention to quality
- Comfortable performing repetitive work while maintaining consistency and accuracy
- Organized, dependable, and self-motivated
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and handling apparel boxes and garments throughout the day
- Willing to learn new equipment and production techniques
Experience
Embroidery experience is not required—we're happy to train the right person.
However, experience in any of the following areas would be considered a strong asset:
- Commercial embroidery machines
- Apparel decoration or textile production
- Manufacturing or production environments
- Laser cutting equipment
- Graphic design software such as CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Wilcom, Pulse, or similar programs
- Embroidery digitizing or editing embroidery files
- Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Sewing Experience – A Major Asset
As part of our continued growth, Houle Sports Excellence will soon be adding sewing machines to expand our in-house production capabilities.
If you have experience operating sewing machines or have worked in garment manufacturing, alterations, upholstery, or textile production, we strongly encourage you to apply.
This experience is considered a major asset and will provide an opportunity to play a key role in helping us develop this exciting new area of our business.
Candidates with sewing experience won't simply be filling a position—they'll have the opportunity to help shape our future production capabilities as we continue to expand.
Likewise, experience with graphic design software or embroidery digitizing is highly valued. Preparing and modifying embroidery files is an important part of our production process, and candidates with these skills will have additional opportunities to contribute and grow within the department.
Schedule
- Full-time, permanent position
- Average 35–45 hours per week
- Primarily Monday to Friday daytime hours
- Flexible scheduling available
- Additional hours may be available during peak production seasons
