Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, developing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and terms, and ensuring materials and components are available when needed.
This role will have a specific focus on managing our electrical product portfolio, making experience with electrical components, products, or procurement a strong asset.
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing and supplier selection through to purchase order and delivery.
- Manage and maintain the electrical product portfolio, including sourcing, pricing, availability, and supplier performance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Request and evaluate quotations, negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to ensure materials are available to support production.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and delivery requirements.
- Research and evaluate new suppliers and products.
- Track supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, pricing, or availability.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing, and supplier information.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Operations, and other departments to understand material requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement process.
- Stay informed about market trends, supplier capabilities, and product availability.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment, with a solid understanding of supply chain processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as GSS or similar platforms; experience with MRP modules is highly desirable.
- Strong vendor management skills with a track record of successful negotiations that deliver cost savings and value enhancements.
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies, pricing models, and contract management best practices.
- Familiarity with purchasing procedures, supply chain logistics, and compliance standards relevant to manufacturing sectors.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to analyze data, manage multiple priorities efficiently, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
