Position: French Teacher

About the Role
We are an upscale French Language Training and Assessment Center located in Vancouver, British Columbia. We are seeking an engaging French Teacher to provide high quality instruction to adult learners and assistance with official French language examinations. This hybrid role includes private and small group classes, lesson planning, progress assessment, and exam related support when required.

Key Responsibilities
- French Instruction: Deliver private and small group lessons for adult learners at different proficiency levels.
- Lesson Planning: Prepare organized lessons and learning materials that address speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
- Official Exam Assistance: Assist with official French language examinations, including candidate guidance, exam setup, supervision, and related administrative support when required.
- Student Assessment: Evaluate proficiency, identify learning needs, monitor progress, and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Student Support: Adapt teaching methods to individual goals and encourage active participation and consistent practice.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate attendance and progress records and communicate scheduling or learning concerns promptly.
Requirements
- Language: French proficiency at C1 level or higher is required.
- Teaching Experience: Previous experience teaching French to adults is preferred. Experience with private lessons, small groups, or online instruction is an asset.
- Teaching Certificate: A teaching certificate is not required.
- Location and Availability: Must be based in Vancouver, British Columbia and available for hybrid work, including onsite duties when required.
- Professionalism: Strong communication, organization, reliability, and the ability to create a supportive learning environment.
- Background Check: Must be willing to undergo a standard criminal record check for an educational environment.
