About the Role:
The Production Technician will report to the Production Supervisor and will be responsible for carrying out all assigned production related tasks, including but not limited to cloning, irrigating, plant maintenance, transplanting, harvests, bucking, trimming, sanitation, and packaging. The Propagation Technician will carry out SNDLs policies procedures and contribute towards the goal of achieving production targets within set timelines.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) for all production activities during cannabis growing and processing, at all times, to produce consistent quality cannabis products
- Perform Irrigation of cannabis plants
- Perform all tasks related to cultivation including but not limited to propagation, harvesting, transplanting and pruning of cannabis plants
- Perform trimming, bucking and sorting of post harvested product
- Ensure GPP, GACP and GMP guidelines are adhered to
- Responsible for sanitation of equipment and production areas
- Collaborate with department associates in all facility areas to improve process performance and safety
- Demonstrate professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Department Supervisors/Leads and Manager
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized horticultural or science program considered an asset, not required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of commercial grow experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of large-scale commercial plant cultivation including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, air flow, etc.
- Pesticide applicators license considered an asset.

Physical Requirements
- Physical aptitude necessary to perform tasks required for an 8-hour shift period, including but not limited to: standing, walking, bending/reaching (repetitive), pushing/pulling (up to 300 lbs), lifting (up to 40 lbs) and squatting
- Ability to work in environments with elevated temperature and humidity, up to 30 degrees Celsius and 75% humidity
- Ability to work in environments with variable lighting (from very bright to very dark)
- Ability to work for an 8-hour shift period wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to full-face or half mask respirators, medical gloves, safety eyewear and face masks
- Ability to regularly work with cleaning products including, but not limited to Synergex, Whisper, Isopropyl Alcohol
- This position involves significant exposure to cannabis/plant materials and is therefore not likely suitable for anyone that may suffer from allergies to cannabis, plant pollen or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever, as a result of cannabis/plant material exposure
