Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 5-Ton Straight Truck Driver to join our team in Surrey, BC. This role involves delivering goods efficiently and safely across various locations, ensuring timely service for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience with warehouse operations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 5-ton straight truck to deliver goods to designated locations within the Surrey area.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule, maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times, issues, or delays.
- Assist with warehouse tasks including moving inventory, organizing stock, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during operations.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a 5-ton straight truck.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with warehouse or logistics background.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling of cargo when necessary.
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus but not mandatory; training may be provided.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Knowledge of warehouse procedures related to moving inventory and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate deliveries and documentation.
- Reliable transportation to reach the work site in Surrey, BC. This position is integral to our operations, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service at every step of the delivery process.
Pay: $42.00 per hour
