Position: Broadcast Technician, Bell Media, Unifor 723M
Location: 299 Queen St W, Toronto (ON)
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, shift work. Overtime as required
Install, maintain and repair all types of media broadcast equipment:
Media Management and acquisition systems
Excellent Knowledge of Avid Editing systems, Nexis storage and Media Central
All aspects of a broadcast facility, video, audio control rooms and associated equipment
Good knowledge of SMPTE 2022 and 2110 as it pertains to IP video transport
Provide user and technical support for emergency issues•
Recognized Certificate in Broadcast Engineering or Relevant Professional Certification
Min 5 years technical experience in the broadcast industry
Strong communication skills, be able to relate to others on both a technical
Ability to analyze, assess, develop and deliver technical instructional documentation
Strong working knowledge of broadcast equipment
Familiarity with all common video and audio codecs and translation methods
Excellent knowledge of computer and electronic hardware
Familiar with modern Broadcast concepts, practices and procedures
Able to multi task around conflicting deadlines with limited supervision
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
