Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and reliable Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) or Responsible Adult Intern to join our team. You will be responsible for providing care and support to children before and after school hours, ensuring a positive and enriching environment. Your role will involve engaging children in creative activities, including art projects, supervising school drop-offs and pick-ups, and assisting in daily operations of our before and after school programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and conducting engaging art activities, crafts, and other creative projects.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for children during school pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities before and after school.
- Provide care and emotional support to children, fostering positive social interactions.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of activity areas and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
- Support the lead educator in other tasks as needed to ensure smooth program operations.
Qualifications:
- A valid Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) certificate or Responsible Adult certificate or working towards completion.
- Previous experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting is preferred but not essential.
- Passion for creative arts, early childhood development, and fostering a positive learning environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual, especially for early morning and late afternoon shifts.
- Willing to learn and lead with a positive attitude.
Assets:
- Background or experience in music, arts, or other creative fields (e.g., music teacher, art instructor).
- Experience working with children of various ages, particularly school-aged children.
- CPR and First Aid certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain).
