The Toronto, Canada site is seeking to fill multiple Research Associate (Stem Cell Biology) positions in the Process Development team. The incumbent will be a key laboratory member in a dynamic and progressive team pioneering scaled manufacturing processes for the generation of therapeutic cells from pluripotent stem cells. Hands on experience with mammalian cell culture and corresponding analytical techniques are essential. Preferably, you have experience with pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation, and/or primary cell culture. Familiarity with bioreactor technologies, cell culture process development, and cGMP manufacturing requirements are a plus.

Participate in design and execution in vitro experiments to develop and characterise scalable processes for cultivation of pluripotent stem cells and derivatives.
Identify and determine appropriate ranges for (critical) process parameters for cell culture and downstream processing to optimize product yield and quality.
Develop and optimize processes and systems to scale production of PSCs and derivatives in a cGMP compliant manner.
Analyze and document experimental data in electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with the company quality management system.
Prepare and follow standard operating procedures, batch records and other process documentation.
Present scientific data to colleagues at internal meetings.
MSc. In biological sciences, biological engineering, or similar.
Extensive mammalian cell culture and cell characterisation experience. Preferably, human pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation, and/or primary cell culture experience.
Experience with, and functional understanding of cell characterisation methods and technologies (e.g., flow cytometery, qPCR, immunoassays, microscopy).
Demonstrated ability to plan experiments and independently execute complex tasks.
Excellent data recording and analysis skills, including statistical treatment of data.
Strong English written and verbal communications skills.
