Profile Summary:
The Financial Analyst role is primarily responsible for manufacturing finance analysis, tracking production and operations KPIs against budgets, providing base costing analysis and budgeted costing for new SKUs as well as various related monthly reporting requirements. The role’s responsibilities also include the preparation of annual budget for various data points such as BOM, cost saving projects, capex projects and operations, productions budget costs.
Specific Accountabilities:

Execute month end processes for inventory costing and prepare monthly production report.

Prepare manufacturing cost analysis and variances compared to plan. This includes production consumptions of raw materials, packaging and other manufacturing expenses and any related reports from other departments, Region and Head office.

Be a business partner to Operations to report and analyze operational metrics and KPIs.

Prepare labor cost variances, factory variances report and commentary on favorable/unfavorable on weekly and monthly basis.

Validate cost saving projects against budgeted savings and report in the system.

Track capex actual spending and work with production, engineering, operations to provide forecast spending by projects and by months and explain variances where required.

Prepare functions IOH variances and submit to head office or to functions heads.

Work with sales, production, and procurement departments to prepare cost budgeted for new SKUs, new launches.

On annual basis, prepare new BOMs, validate existing BOMs components for the new year.

Prepare budgeted labor rates, labor cost, budgeted expenses by departments and upload required data into the system.

Work with related departments to establish cost saving projects and monthly saving projections for annual budget.

Support interim and year end audits.

Support equity, diversity, and inclusivity programs

Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining product quality and food safety program practices including BRC, HACCP, QA / QC, GMP, Sanitation and good hygiene practices.

Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining the Health and Safety program.

Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Qualifications:
-
Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Business or a related field required, CPA or working towards CPA designation an asset.

5 plus years experience in Finance & Accounting, experience in manufacturing, finance operations is preferred.

Strong attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure to meet timelines.

Solid analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills

Experience in Full cycle accounting would be an asset

ERP system experience required, SAP experience would be an asset

Advanced knowledge of Excel

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience with project leadership

Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and communicate effectively in a variety of situations

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment

Proven track record of maintaining strong cross-functional & customer relationships
